Following last year’s successful series of master-classes jointly presented by Premiere Performances of Hong Kong (PPHK) and the Lin Yao Ji Music Foundation of China (LYJ Music Foundation) in the Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival 2012, we are proud to host in conjunction with PPHK its second series of violin master-classes in January 2013, featuring world-renowned violinist Cho-Liang Lin and Violin Professor of the Juilliard School, Earl Carlyss.

Applications are now open to all advanced players of performance diploma level, aged 25 years old or under. Priority will be given to applicants residing or studying in Hong Kong. The submission deadline is 7 December 2012, and results will be announced on 18 December 2012. For more details on submitting the application, please click here

Amateur Chamber Music Showcase and Master-classe with Earl Carlyss and Anne Schein

PPHK and the LYJ Music Foundation are also organizing an Amateur Chamber Music Showcase ("the Showcase"), to be hosted by Professors Earl Carlyss and Anne Schein. The Showcase offers a casual performance platform for amateur chamber music players who have prepared a piece of music as a group and would like to share it with other musicians and a wider audience. Each performing group will play one movement of an ensemble work. Players will receive brief constructive comments from Professor Earl Carlyss on their performance.

For more advanced groups who are intent on receiving more serious coaching, 3 groups will be selected by Professor Carlyss from the Showcase on 5 January 2013 to participate in a full Chamber Music Master-class on 11 January 2013.
