The Foundation is proud to offer full scholarships for selected advanced students to take part in a cello masterclass given by Gary Hoffman. The masterclass is hosted by the Foundation and heralds the opening of the Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival.
The Foundation is now accepting applications for its first masterclass for advanced players and professionals. Three scholarships are available for public applications.

Who is eligible The Foundation will award full scholarship to each of the selected participants in the masterclass to cover the entire cost of participating in the masterclass. Applicants must belong to one of the following categories:-
1) Professional players 2) Hong Kong or Mainland Chinese students who have
(i) been prize-winners in a regional competition in Hong Kong or Mainland China within the past three years which is the equivalent of ABRSM Grade 8 or a more advanced grade; or in the cello concerto or sonata class; or
(ii) attained diploma certificates from recognized examination boards, such as Dip ABRSM, LRSM, FRSM/LTCL, FTCL
Application requirements Each applicant should submit the application form with a recording in the format of MP3 or a DVD of good quality containing an unedited audio visual recording of both of the following items:-
1) Any movement from the 6 Bach Suites for Solo Cello (except for the Suite No. 1) 2) One piece of the applicant's choice
Application deadline The application deadline is 7 December 2011.
How to submit your application All documents and recordings must be submitted by the application deadline.
Applicants who choose to submit recordings in DVD format must submit the DVD together with the application form to the following address:-

Applicants who choose to submit recordings in MP3 format should send their recording electronically together with the application form.
Application results Audition results will be posted on the Foundation’s website on 15 December 2011. Selected participants will be notified individually by the Foundation.
