The 2nd Lin Yao Ji International Competition for Violin Compositions

The Lin Yao Ji Music Foundation of China (the Foundation) is proud to launch its second international competition for violin compositions. The objective of the Competition is to encourage the creation of new compositions featuring the violin and ensembles with violin, and to advance young composers showing outstanding musicality and innovation.

The Competition is open to composers of all nationalities aged 40 or under on 31 December 2013. The winning compositions of the respective Categories will be recommended for presentation at public concerts and/or in major chamber music events to be staged in China and Hong Kong in 2014. 6 January 2013: Amateur Chamber Music Showcase held

The Amateur Chamber Music Showcase was held successfully on 6 January 2013 at the Miller Theatre of the Asia Society Hong Kong Centre. 9 groups, comprising of students and non-music professionals, presented a variety of chamber music works and received comments from Earl Carlyss and Anne Schein. This event was co-hosted by the Foundation together with PPHK as part of the 4th HKICMF. Photos will be posted on our website shortly.

25 August 2012: Youth community outreach with Project DISCOVER

LYJ Music Foundation successfully co-presented Project DISCOVER in an inaugural fund-raising concert on 25th August 2012. 

Project DISCOVER aims to bring chamber music to a wider community by presenting interactive educational performances of chamber music in openly accessible venues, and in due course in schools and other institutions, where interested players will receive free coaching and co-perform with young professionals. The donations received will be used in forthcoming events to support Project DISCOVER and the Foundation's mission to broaden the reach of chamber music in Hong Kong. Stay tuned for updates!
