A key aspect of continuing Professor Lin's legacy is to offer coaching opportunites led by world-class artists to advance the musicality and technique of young musicians, and to ensure that these opportunities are made available to all.
The Foundation launched its Masterclass Series by awarding 8 young players the Lin Yao Ji Masterclass Scholarships to participate in the Cello Masterclass with Desmond Hoebigand the Violin Masterclass with Cho-Liang Lin. These classes were held in January 2012, and were co-hosted with Premiere Performances Hong Kong (PPHK) and the HKAPA as part of the 3rd Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival (HKICMF).
In January 2013, we again collaborated with PPHK and HKAPA to host the Amateur Chamber Music Workshop with Earl Carlyss and Anne Schein, as well as the Violin Masterclasses with Cho-Liang Lin and Earl Carlyss, as part of the 4th HKICMF.
On 25 and 26 May 2013, the Foundation presented the 3rd installation of its Masterclass Series by inviting Juilliard Professor Lewis Kaplan to host its Violin Masterclass and Pro-Am Chamber Music Workshops. This was made possible by Regal Hotels International, the Hotel Sponsor.
